Smurf

In this humidity there seems to be an irrelevant dresscode since in both the sun and shade one seems to be suffocating in their own sweat. The best remedy is to focus on garments that can breathe. For example, I'd like to introduce you to my "holey" back dress. Holey garments add a nice little detail that can be substituted for jewelery.  Some advice; construct symmetrical or oval or wild shapes in your clothing. Rock it like you're Regina George. Y'all know what I talking about. Also I'd have to say this humidity really brings out the frizzies in my hair. I'm sure many of you get the same so I suggest tying the lion mane in a nice tight bun and patting it down with a pair of sunnies.
I can't describe my unconditional love of socks and sandals but I can show you my eternal love for smurf blue socks and sandals. MMMMHHHHMMM.

Working Class Hero

Every being, man or woman, should be entitled to at least one suit. Any occassion can be topped off with a suit. When you want to be taken seriously and professionally, all you have to do is put on a perfectly tailored suit and BAM, a form of respect passes your way. All in all I believe any person can be suited based on their personalities really. It was just last month when i found the perfect suit for me. It has professionalism written all over it, but also has 'hey i'm a little bit funky aswell!'.  I'm a happy camper. You see, suits shouldn't only be strictly work related, they should also be worn out on a weekday night while hanging out with some friends. So I paired the suit with a simple sparkly wine colored T-shirt which really makes the ensemble a bit more casual.
Also to tone this outfit down even further, change the black pumps to some high top kicks. AWW YEAH.

Crisp & Clean

With this scorching hot sun melthing us away, for the time being i've decided it's best if I let my all black fetish take a detour. Remember what's important here, survival is key. That being said, I came to conclusion that repelling the sun with my superpowers (a.k.a-  my all white ensemble) would make me look really really cool. So then I told a pack of kids loitering about my work I have superpowers that can repel the sun. As their devilish little smirks turned into blank dumfounded stares, I could tell discomfort took over their little selves. Stupid kids. All in all I hope you learnt a valuable lesson. One: Dress in all white. It really makes life easier. Socially and physically. Two: Tell vulnerable beings that you have some sort of power. Something ridiculous that isn't remotely possible like if someone were to chop off a finger, it'll grow back different colours or something. I don't know. Think outside the box.

Hillbilly Chic

As this inner hillbilly-iness emerges and takes over my life for the day, I milk (badum bing!) this persona beyond its limits until it gets remotely uncomfortable to look at. For example, is the cap entirely necessary? YES. Does it necessarily mean I am ready to go Ox hunting? Well no, but that's just how I roll. As I continue to get a feel for this life style, I figured this silk white button up shirt will allow me to get the right amount of farmers tan. And lastly, the drag queen shoes. This is what differentiates me from the rest of the hillbilly out there. I can dance drag.

Geisha Girl

I came across this look on An Unknown Quantity and found it rather enjoyable. It resembles a rebellious modern day geisha girl who doesn't want to be perfect and covered up in a pound of makeup until she looks ghostly like all of her geisha girlfriends. Natural beauty and looking so fresh and so clean clean is what really defines beauty. Maybe society is not a huge supporter of the do it yourself Betty Page bangs, but who really cares. This is North America people. Yeah. We matter too. I think what really glorifies this whole ensemble is the comme des garcon black cut out dress that goes splendidly with the flowery kimono. I know I say this enough but perfection at its best.

Fosto!

Jolly good people. I'd like you to introduce you to a very good friend of mine. His name is Fosto and he is a very hairy white caucasian individual. A little too white. Whiter than I. Hard to believe right?! His hobbies include licking feet, shadowing your every move and sitting on command. Plus pooping on command. He's a doll. Anywho, Fosto and I went strolling down the mysterious street of kingston rd where reside many abandoned and vacant motels and not so abandoned strip clubs. In this midst of it all, we came across this magnificent car wash that could have possibly been there since the 50's. Neat huh? So before the city decides to turn this piece of land into a highrise condominium, we both agreed it was best to leave our mark.

Crayola Dress

I found this little number last week at value village. Intentional crayola scribbles will be perfectly swell for the summer time. Plus, I feel like one of the Von Trapp children from Sound of Music. I don't know why. There is no relation whatsoever between the two. That's alright.

Nature Boy

David Bowie. Ring any bells? He's only the most fahionably daring artist of the century. No big deal right? WRONG! This man is more than just a creative individual. He has poise and integrity. He's the real deal. In 50 years time, everyone will still remember David Bowie as the iconic wonder man who took music and fashion to the next level. Take a look for yourself and tell me this doesn't make you want to jump into these characters and sing Golden Years.

I know who I'm dressing up as for Halloween. I think it suits me. Especially this last number.

To the woman who reared me

All mothers deserve more than one day to be saluted and high fived wherever they go. Mothers, in particular my mother, would do ANYTHING to keep her children happy, healthy and safe. Not only is she superwoman but she was also one stylish cookie. It's always a pleasure to here your mother say "I use to have something exactly like that and I only bought it for 1 dollar". Thanks mom. I'm so glad I had to wrestle an old psychotic woman at value village for this. So here's to the one who reared me, thank you for always being there.

Love you mom!

The Hunt

Over the next week or so you can probably catch me at every single thrift store in town. Why? Because I'm on a mission to find the doppleganger of these beautiful creatures at a much more affordable price by a few decimal places. I won't stop until I find it. Wish me luck!

Hermes scarf

As you cozy up inside your homes on this cold dreadful day with a blanky or two over face, you may huff and puff about our climate. "Why is it STILL so cold?" "Why is it hailing in april?" "Wow, typhoons in this country?". Okay that last doesn't really happen, though it might as well. Okay don't do that either. Before you immediately book your flight to a nice toasty tropical island, stop and listen cause I found a solution that can save yo money. So I don't really have one but I know something that can help you cope on grey days like these. With a quick click to Didi a la mode, Didi can make you feel better. As we reach mid may, Didi will frequently post pictures of happy go lucky summery outfits that will make you want to jump through your screen and join me as I skip through meadows and play with squirrels and rabbits. Even if there aren't anymore sunny days for the rest of the summer, I will go out of my way to create summery illusions in my pictures, you hear?Cause Didi won't let you down. Note: I am Didi. This mutual agreement will be a win win for both of us. Here's an example of the ride you are in for. Buckle up folks, it's going to get crazy.

Style director of the year

Without question the award of best dressed fashionistas and important figures in the fashion industry goes to Taylor Tomasi Hill. On the street, she goes by "fashion cameleon" changing from sharp business woman into classy & chic into edgy tomboy. With her fire red hair and stupendous style, it's hard for Taylor to go unnoticed.
A fellow beetlejuice fan I see. That's always nice.
