The slight progression that seems to be taking place with the whole job hunting scene is leaving my wallet a little more slender these days. The only way to hold it together and make it through these distressing times are to look at the bright side of the situation.
Reason #1: More "me" time, whatever that means. Possibly the first excuse they teach you at unemployment 101 sessions.
Reason #2: Less money, less shopping. The antonym for mo money, mo problems. If anything this no money concept is gradually washing away my shopping addiction. Hazzah! Or is my addiction amplifying due to the extra "free time" on my hands? Take it from me, addicts find it relatively difficult to sustain from their one and only weakness. That is why addictions must be handled with delicate care and awareness. One must not entirely bite the dust on old "habits" at once but gradually diminish these "habits" until they are completely ready to throw away their dirty laundry once and for all... or at least until another pay check is in hindsight. Let me make myself clear. This does NOT apply for all addictions, only for the non life threatening ones.
Let's stick with reason #2 for a moment. As I have previously mentioned shopping rehabilitation is a slow and strenuous process. That being said I still continue take the odd visits down goodwill, only to find myself cashing out with 1 item under $10 per trip as oppose to 2 big bag full of mediocre garments. These limitations allow me to select an item that is worthwhile. Furthermore narrowing down allows me to purchase an item that is a bare necessity as oppose to something that will simply take up extra closet space.
Orange Asylum Sack
Meet one of my latest sole purchase. Though he's more commonly known as the asylum sack. The moment I saw this big bundle of orange knitwear I just knew he was meant to be hung in my closest with the rest of my 1 garment per trip trophies. The moment strangers linger at your outfit with their 'who just farted face' you know you've done your job.
